PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Claude C. Reitzel, 70, of Perryville died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at his home.
He was born March 18, 1930, in Cape Girardeau County, son of Lawrence C. and Mildred C. Davis Reitzel. He and Arlene Mae Collins were married Jan. 27, 1951. She died April 23, 1998.
Reitzel was a retired truck driver. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and booster member of American Legion Post 133.
He had been a member of the U.S. Army National Guard in Jackson.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Reitzel, Jerry Long and Mike Reitzel, all of Perryville; four daughters, Regina Schmidt, Olanda Schumer and Brenda Barnett of Perryville, Teresa Upchurch of Marble Hill; a sister, Emilie Clark of Trenton; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30-11 a.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
