SIKESTON -- Claude M. Plunk, 79, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 15, 1913, in Adamsville, Tenn., son of Rufus W. and Jessie Gladys Plunk. He and Alpha Burney were married Sept. 30, 1936, in Corinth, Miss.

Plunk had farmed and worked in construction. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gerald Plunk of Sikeston, Charles Plunk of Matthews; four daughters, Patricia Cook, Gail Lawrence, Betty Kelso and Carolyn Noles, all of Sikeston; two brothers, Roscoe Plunk of Crump, Tenn., James Plunk of Morehouse; three sisters, Rea Gillian of Tell City, Ind., Viola Boutwell of New Madrid, Leora Adams of Anniston; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Billie Butler will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Friday.
