PERRYVILLE -- Clarice M. "Curly" Whistler, 86, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at Perry Oaks Healthcare Center.
She was born March 12, 1912, at Kaskaskia Island, Ill., to Francis Xavier and Clara Lipscomb Buatte.
She married Howard J. "Red" Whistler April 24, 1934. He died Nov. 23, 1988.
She had been a nurses' aide at Perry County Memorial Hospital and previously worked for International Shoe.
She was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality in Brewer.
Survivors include two sisters, Faye LaRose of Perryville and Muriel Hart of St. Louis. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. and Thursday from 6:30-9:20 a.m. at Young and Sons Funeral Home. Catholic wake will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Savior Catholic Church with the Rev. Felipe Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
