JACKSON -- Claribel "Pat" Brewer, 89, of Jackson died Saturday, April 23, 1994, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 1, 1905, at Jackson, the daughter of Thomas and Lenora Franklin Rafferty. On Nov. 21, 1953, she married William Harry Brewer, who preceded her in death Dec. 1, 1990.
She also was preceded in death by a step-son, two brothers and two sisters.
A 1942 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, she taught first-grade in Brewer, Burlington, Iowa and Kirkwood for 42 years before her retirement in 1969. She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She also was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Survivors include a stepson, James Brewer of Kirkwood; four step-daughters, Jacqueline Becker, Evelyn Kessler, Betty Jean Breaver and Marilyn Deusctmann, all of Kirkwood; a brother, Robert E. Rafferty Sr. of Jackson; a sister, Cathryn White of Cape Girardeau; 22 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. Parish prayers are slated for 8:30 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception. Msr. Edward Eftink will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
