ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Funeral for Clarence M. "Bill" Watkins of St. Louis was held Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at Concord Trinity Methodist Church in St. Louis. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Watkins died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004.

He was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Cape Girardeau County, son of John and Mabel Samuel Watkins.

He was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School.

He was a electrician in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie J. Watkins of St. Louis; a son, William Watkins of Fenton, Mo.; two daughters, Patricia Taylor of Columbia and Mickie Keen of Affton, Mo.; a sister, Jewel Goodson of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.

Kutis Affton Funeral Chapel in St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
