SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Clarence Earl Snider of Scott City will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Jack Bishop will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Snider, 85, died Thursday, June 19, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 28, 1912, in Hickory Grove, son of Samuel Colbert and Onie Moore Snider. He and Ossie M. Montgomery were married June 11, 1944, in Cape Girardeau.
Snider retired in 1974 as a riverboat engineer with Cargill Carriers. He was a member of Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City, and Teamsters Local in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carl Snider of Farmington, Samuel Snider of Newburg, James Snider of Miami, Fla.; a brother, Frank Snider of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mary Higgason of Hawkins, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, three sisters, and a grandchild.
