SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Clarence Rafferty of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Sikeston, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crews Welsh and Ponder Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Monday.
Rafferty, 68 years old, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 1991, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Feb. 9, 1923, at Hornersville, son of Thomas F. and Marjorie Hall Rafferty. He and the former Wanda Snyder were married July 4, 1943.
Rafferty was a longtime employee of Sikeston Public Schools, and co-owner of Rafferty and Son Grocery here. For 25 years he was a postal employee, including postmaster in Haynes, Ark.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Michael Rafferty of Memphis; three daughters, Cheryl Stout of Little Rock, Ark., Peggy Russell of Memphis, Nancy Bailey of St. Louis, and nine grandchildren.
