MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Clara Charlene Sitzes, 87, of Kokomo, Ind., and formerly of Glenallen, Mo., died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at the Fairmont Nursing Home in Kokomo. She was born Nov. 17, 1923 in Carryville, Ark., daughter of William Harvey and Nellie Smith Simmons. She and Willard "Jim" Leo Sitzes were united in marriage Dec. 14, 1942. He passed away Sept. 11, 2008...

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Clara Charlene Sitzes, 87, of Kokomo, Ind., and formerly of Glenallen, Mo., died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at the Fairmont Nursing Home in Kokomo.

She was born Nov. 17, 1923 in Carryville, Ark., daughter of William Harvey and Nellie Smith Simmons. She and Willard "Jim" Leo Sitzes were united in marriage Dec. 14, 1942. He passed away Sept. 11, 2008.

She was a homemaker and attended the Calvary Temple Church in Fredericktown, Mo.

Survivors include three sons, Leonard (Mary) Sitzes and J.W. Ray Sitzes, both of Kokomo, and James (Martha) Sitzes of Bringhurst, Ind.; two brothers, Bill Simmons and David Simmons, both of Glenallen; one sister, Ruth Dowd of Glenallen; nine grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Cureton officiating.

Burial will follow in the McGee Chapel Cemetery near Glenallen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Old Trace Creek Cemetery Association or McGee Chapel Cemetery.
