CLARA SCHWEPKER

Clara Theresa Schwepker, 95, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born July 17, 1905, near Jackson, Mo., daughter of Joseph and Wilhelmina Wirth Kirn. She and Henry Schwepker were married Feb. 10, 1926, in Alton, Ill. He died Nov. 17, 1988.

Schwepker grew up in rural Cape Girardeau County, and lived on the family farm 67 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. She had been a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church at Dutchtown, Mo., and its Ladies Sodality.

Survivors include two daughters, Edna Scheeter and Henrietta Medlin of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Henry Kirn of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Edna Burford of Benton, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Revs. Gefford Lamprea, James Seyer and Milton Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
