SCOTT CITY -- Clara Martha Ellen Kinder, 98, died March 29, 1991, at the Deal Nursing Home in Jackson. She was born Jan. 14, 1893 at Houck to the late James and Nancy Dillyard Shumate. She was a member of the Christian Church in Swinton. She married Ernest Kinder on June 17, 1912. He proceeded her in death on March 30, 1966...

SCOTT CITY -- Clara Martha Ellen Kinder, 98, died March 29, 1991, at the Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Jan. 14, 1893 at Houck to the late James and Nancy Dillyard Shumate.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Swinton.

She married Ernest Kinder on June 17, 1912. He proceeded her in death on March 30, 1966.

Survivors include one son, Elwood Kinder of Sikeston; two daughters Ruby Brant of Wappapello and Wanda Odom of Jackson; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by five sons, one daughter, three grandsons, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call today after 4:30 p.m. at the Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel.

Services will be at the chapel at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Ronnie Phillips will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
