THEBES, Ill. -- Clara Jewel Waters, 89, of Murray, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Life Care Center in Jonesboro. She was born April 5, 1904, in Kentucky, daughter of Jack and Vinnie Ward Cook. She and Ernest Waters were married Feb. 2, 1934. He died in 1984...

THEBES, Ill. -- Clara Jewel Waters, 89, of Murray, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Life Care Center in Jonesboro.

She was born April 5, 1904, in Kentucky, daughter of Jack and Vinnie Ward Cook. She and Ernest Waters were married Feb. 2, 1934. He died in 1984.

Waters was a member of Bell City Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Fisher of Thebes; a stepson, Harry Waters of Belvidere; a brother, L.D. Cook of Murray; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 26 great-stepgrandchildren, and 15 great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a stepson.

Friends may call at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. A.W. Landis will officiate, with burial in Murray City Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home of Tamms was in charge of local arrangements.
