UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Clara E. Hemmann, 88, of Uniontown died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville, Mo. She was born in Lutesville, Mo., Nov. 23, 1921, daughter of the late Earl and Dora Shell Hendershott. She and August A. Hemmann were married Feb. 22, 1941. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1997...

UNIONTOWN, Mo. -- Clara E. Hemmann, 88, of Uniontown died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville, Mo.

She was born in Lutesville, Mo., Nov. 23, 1921, daughter of the late Earl and Dora Shell Hendershott. She and August A. Hemmann were married Feb. 22, 1941. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet (Jim) Lorenz of Barnhart, Mo., Margaret (Erwin) Fritsche of Perryville; two sons, Don (Dot) Hemmann of Uniontown, Howard (Kim) Hemmann of Jackson; a brother, Charles Hendershott of Senath, Mo.; a sister, Lillian Ruggely of St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Tom (Kelly) Lorenz, Don (Jennifer) Fritsche, Jessica (Brad) Krauss, Lori (Jason) England, Amy (Tom) Childs, Nathan (Sara) Hemmann, Ashley Hemmann; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Betty Hemmann; three sisters, Mabel Dinkins, Lora Tallent, Dorothy Payne; and four brothers, Floyd, Donald, Lendle and Jim Hendershott.

Mrs. Hemmann had been a nurse's aide in a nursing home. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund or Southeast Hospice.
