Funeral mass for Clara Elizabeth Brant, 542 S. Ellis, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Glenn Eftink will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Parish prayers will be at 7.
Brant, 98, died Monday, July 4, 1994, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.
She was born Sept. 18, 1895, in Scott County, daughter of Leo and Louise Ziegler Diebold. She and Iven Brant were married in June 1916, at Kelso. He died in April 1976.
Brant worked in the laundry department at St. Francis Medical Center 20 years, and also worked several years at the Notre Dame Convent. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Altar Society, and St. Ann's Sodality.
Survivors include two sons, Victor Brant of Cape Girardeau, James Brant of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Rita Fornkohl of Jackson, Mary Ann Racher of St. Louis; a sister, Barbara Hopkins of Scott City; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons and four sisters.
