Clara Mae Edmonds Bray, 97, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010. She was born March 1, 1913, in Kelso, Mo., to Clara and Benjamin Edmonds. She graduated from Fornfelt High School in May 1931. She and James William Bray were married July 1, 1933, in Fornfelt. He preceded her in death July 6, 1987...

Clara Mae Edmonds Bray, 97, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010.

She was born March 1, 1913, in Kelso, Mo., to Clara and Benjamin Edmonds. She graduated from Fornfelt High School in May 1931. She and James William Bray were married July 1, 1933, in Fornfelt. He preceded her in death July 6, 1987.

Throughout her adult years, Clara's life centered on her family and church. Clara was president of her church's Women's Missionary Union, was a Sunday school teacher and sometimes church pianist.

She was a devoted wife and mother and cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brothers and a son, James Warner Bray.

She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Estep of Edmond, Okla.; a son, Gary Bray of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A woman of faith, Clara will be missed and never forgotten for her love and thoughtfulness she extended to her family, friends and all those she met.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
