WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Service for Christy Lynn Schaefer of Wolf Lake will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium of Shawnee High School near here with Father Tom Miller officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery north of Anna.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Lutz-Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shawnee High School. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Schaefer, 16 years old, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 1991, at Children's Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Dec. 6, 1974, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Jerry and Sharon Turkington Schaefer.
She is survived by her parents; a sister, Lisa File, Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Bill Schaefer, Wolf Lake; maternal grandmother, Lucille Turkington, Indianapolis, and grandfather Carl Verble of Indianapolis.
She was president of the sophomore class at Shawnee High School; a member of Beta Club; band; yearbook staff; cheerleader; member of the school's girls basketball team; reporter for Future Farmers of America, and secretary of 4-H Swamp Rats Club. She was also vice president of the Union County Confederation of 4-H Clubs. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Anna.
