CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Christine Parker of Charleston will be held at 2 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Revs. Dale Huff and Dennis Lowe will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Parker, 77, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

She was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Mississippi County, Mo., daughter of Robert William and Jen Nettie Burnes Poley. She and Chroma Lee "Banty" Parker were married Oct. 15, 1940. He died Aug. 22, 1969.

Parker lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She retired from Brown Shoe Co. at Charleston in 1987, and was a member of First Baptist Church in East Prairie, Mo.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Parker of Friendship, Wis.; two daughters, Shirley Keen of Benton, Mo., Lawanda Moore of Imperial, Mo.; five brothers, James Poley of East Prairie, Floyd Poley of South Carolina, Robert Poley of Arnold, Mo., Delbert Poley of Sikeston, George Poley of Clarkton, Mo.; four sisters, Beulah Everly and Lola Hayden of Charleston, Tillie Hedge of East Prairie, Peggy Hardin of Sikeston; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two grandchildren.
