Christine Fox, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Arbors Nursing Facility.
She was born April 25, 1927, at Lamar, Ark., daughter of Thomas Frank and Augusta Christine Doerr Sparks.
Fox graduated from Lilbourn High School in 1945. She attended business school in St. Louis and worked there as a bank teller at Plaza Bank and secretary for several years.
She was confirmed as a member of West Pine Street First Baptist Church in St. Louis and was a member of the St. Louis Chapter Order of Eastern Star.
She and William "Bill" Fox were married in June 1967 in Las Vegas. He died April 1, 2008. They resided in Williamsburg, Va., 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Velma Farrenburg and Eileen Happe; and two brothers, Kermit Sparks and Lyle Quinton Sparks.
She is survived by two sisters, Emma Laverne Olson of Cape Girardeau, Pauline Scholes of Temecula, Calif.; a special niece, Teresa McCulloch of Steele, Mo.; a great-nephew, Mackenzie McCulloch of Mississippi State University in Starkville; and several other nieces and nephews, all out of state.
Graveside service and interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
