Christine B. Spell, 78, 367 Edgewood, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1993, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 18, 1914, in Goodman, Miss., daughter of John Peter and Laura Ann Cotton Burrell. She married L.U. Spell June 24, 1934, in Goodman.
Spell attended Holmes Community College in Mississippi. The family moved to Cape Girardeau in 1955. She was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church and St. Mark Chapter 167 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Dale Spell of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Judy Fischer of Villa Ridge, Mo.; a brother, Julian Burrell of Pickens, Miss.; two sisters, Marie Haynie of Cape Girardeau, Velma Pilgrim of Durant, Miss.; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and three brothers.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Southern Funeral Home in Lexington, Miss. The Rev. Jim Dace will officiate, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Friends may also call at Southern Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
