CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for Chester R. Chostner of Rockford, Ill., was held Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church there. The Rev. Andrew Lowry officiated, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd. was in charge of arrangements.

Chostner, 81 years old, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1991, at Swedish-American Hospital in Rockford.

He was born July 26, 1909, in Bollinger County, son of James Monroe and Elizabeth Chostner. He and the former Juanita M. George were married June 4, 1941, in Cape Girardeau.

Chostner was a wholesale representative with Williams Manufacturing Co. 28 years, retiring in 1975. He moved to Rockford 39 years ago from Jacksonville, Fla. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Gloria Swanson of Duluth, Minn., Lori Buchanan of Rockford, Darlene Ramsey of Rialto, Calif.; two sons, Roy and Chester Chostner Jr. of Rockford; two sisters, Mildred Terrill of Houston, Tex., Rosalie Hall of Cape; a twin brother, Lester Chostner of Greensboro, N.C., and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
