EAST PRAIRIE -- Chester C. Wallace, 75, of East Prairie died Sunday, March 1, 1992, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial V.A. Hospital in Columbia.
He was born Sept. 16, 1916 at Barnes Ridge, son of Ruben and Lottie Hubbard Wallace.
He was a retired farmer and had lived in Mississippi County his entire life. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in East Prairie. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Burney Wallace of East Prairie; three sons, Bobby and Kendall Wallace, both of East Prairie, and Bonnie Wallace of Las Vegas; one daughter, Faye DeSpain of Rolla; and four grandchildren.
Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Shelby Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Farquhar, pastor of the Freewill Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
