Charlotte Wildman, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at Life Care Center.
She was born Nov. 29, 1940, to Charles Roscoe and Clola Louise Dewrock Nelson in Cape Girardeau. Charlotte married Norman Wildman on Jan. 1, 1975, and he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 2008.
Charlotte's life work for over 40 years was caring for hundreds of children while operating her own day care center. She enjoyed going to yard sales in her spare time.
Survivors include her son, Terry (Rhonda) Wildman; two sisters, Betty (Don) Mayberry and Wanda Nelson; three grandchildren, Terry (Morgan) Wildman, Alicia (Mike) Barks and Christina Wildman; nine great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Norman, Charlotte was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Peel; four brothers, Bob Nelson, Bill Cramer, George Nelson and Adel Nelson; and an infant sister, Shirley Nelson.
A memorial gathering will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 2 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made directly to Crain Funeral Home.
