CHARLOTTE A. LEATON

Charlotte Ann Leaton, 64, of Butler, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, May 31, 1995, at her home. She was born Oct. 26, 1930, at Rich Hill, daughter of James and Gladys Winter Norton. She and Lester Leaton were married Aug. 11, 1950. Leaton had been secretary to the executive vice president of Educational Foundations for Monsanto Corp., and secretary to the dean of the School of Business at Washington University five years. ...

Charlotte Ann Leaton, 64, of Butler, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, May 31, 1995, at her home.

She was born Oct. 26, 1930, at Rich Hill, daughter of James and Gladys Winter Norton. She and Lester Leaton were married Aug. 11, 1950.

Leaton had been secretary to the executive vice president of Educational Foundations for Monsanto Corp., and secretary to the dean of the School of Business at Washington University five years. She was secretary to several deans at Southeast Missouri State University for 23 years, retiring in 1990.

Survivors include her husband, and a son, Gary Leaton of Butler.

Funeral service was held Saturday at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery there.
