Funeral Mass for Charles Joseph Seyer of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing and the Rev. Normand Varone will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m., and Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 7:30.

Seyer, 64, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Cape Girardeau, son of Otto and Corena Schott Seyer. He and Wanda Reece were married Nov. 7, 1959, in Cape Girardeau.

Seyer was a mechanic, having worked at Erlbacher Construction Co. several years, at General Garage from 1963-76, and had worked at Seyer and Sons Garage since 1976.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1111.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Danny Seyer of Vincennes, Ind., Donald Seyer of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Cindy Keller, Sheila Seyer and Brenda Friese, all of Cape Girardeau.

Also surviving are three brothers, Eugene Seyer of New Hamburg, Cornelius and Jerome Seyer of Cape Girardeau; eight sisters, Mary Anne Terry of Fruitland, Virginia Ross of Benton, Lawanda Turnbaugh of Toledo, Ohio, Janet Jarrell and Dorothy Seyer of Cape Girardeau, Jane Spurlock of Fenton, Nancy Amelunke of Columbia, Linda Hurt of Egypt Mills; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
