Charles Henry Schwepker Sr., 63, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, son of Fred M. and H. Lucille Fagan Schwepker. He and Mary R. Halter were married May 28, 1960, at St. Mary's Cathedral.

Schwepker had worked at Public Finance, First Capitol Finance, and was owner and worked in the finance department at Associates Commercial, retiring in 1999.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. He was formerly of St. Charles, Mo., and was a member of St. Charles Jaycees, St. Charles City Council, St. Charles Municipal Band, St. Charles Dance Band, St. Peter's Parish Church Council, and president of Missouri Consumer Finance. He was a caller for Happy Tappers Cloggers, traveling with children all over the country.

Schwepker was a sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathy, wife of Mike Huebner of St. Peters; four sons, Charlie H., husband of Laura Schwepker Jr. of Lees Summit, Mo., David, husband of Kendra Schwepker of Murray, Ky., John Schwepker of San Diego, Calif., Rich, husband of Lori Schwepker of St. Peters.

Also surviving are grandsons Ben Pallardy, Matt Pallardy, Nick Pallardy; granddaughter Alicia Schwepker; grandsons Charles Schwepker III, Evan Schwepker, Mitchell Huebner; granddaughter Miranda Huebner; and grandson Christopher Rowberry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4:30-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11 a.m. Thursday. Father Milton F. Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
