CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Charles Richard Wahl, 62, of 2006 Brink, Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape.

He was born Nov. 18, 1928, in St. Louis. He was the manager of the Firestone Tire and Rubber store in Cape, before retiring in August of 1987 after 25 years with the company.

He was the son of the late Charles Mellville Wahl and Helen Gertrude Whitely Wahl.

He married Rita A. Westrich on June 6, 1953 at Kelso.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the United Commercial Travelers. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of Cape, two sons, Bradley C. Wahl of Cape and Jeffrey M. Wahl of St. Louis; two daughters, Cynthia L. McCormick of Cape and Susan M. Janet of Kansas City; one sister, Delores Bennett of St. Louis; and four grandchildren.

One grandson proceeded him in death in 1984.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Rowling officiating.

Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. A Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. today and parish prayers at 8 p.m. both at the chapel.

Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
