SIKESTON, Mo. -- Charles Melburn Reaves, 55, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Jan. 1, 1948, in Dunklin County, Mo., son of Melburn J. and Dorothy Watson Reaves. He and Pat Cassetty were married Aug. 17, 1971, in Jeffersonville, Ind.
Reaves taught five years at Gideon, Mo., schools. He then moved to Sikeston and was a counselor at Lee Hunter School and then was principal at Morehouse, Mo., schools. He most recently was a 4-H youth specialist in New Madrid, Mo.
He was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Matt Reaves of the home; a daughter, Sarah Reaves of the home; his parents of Searcy, Ark.; three sisters, Carol Burchfield and Becky Bennett of Searcy, and Linda Crossett of Bartlett, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shady Acres Church of Christ, with Pat Hogan and Johnny Hester officiating. Burial will be in Malden Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden, Mo.
