SIKESTON -- Funeral mass for Charles Richard "Buddy" Waters of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Msgr. William Stanton will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Waters, 67, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1992, at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born June 24, 1925, at Lilbourn, son of Alexander Chapman and Helen Wells Waters. He and Margaret Lambert were married April 3, 1948, at Sikeston.
Waters was a civil engineer with Waters and Associates, and was Scott County surveyor. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Anne Sherwood Chittenden of Sikeston; two brothers, George Waters of McAllen, Texas, John Waters of Grand Blanc, Mich., and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and brother.
