COBDEN, Ill. -- Charles Henry Hunter, 85, of Carbondale, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1996, in Cobden.

He was born June 8, 1910, at Makanda, son of Charles Henry and Mary Alice Hagler Hunter. He and Ruth Elizabeth Hodges were married June 30, 1940, at Jackson, Mo.

Hunter was retired from the Illinois Highway Department. He was a member of First Christian Church in Carbondale, and Local 220. He was a veteran of World War II.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Susan Webb officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
