DEXTER -- Charles "Curt" Hunt of Dexter died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was 76.
He was born Jan. 1, 1922, near Dexter, son of Trot and Hallie Herrington Hunt. They preceded him in death.
He married Evelyn Temples in Piggott, Ark., on March 2, 1946. She survives.
He spent his early years in Dexter before serving in the military during WWII. After returning to Missouri, he moved to St. Louis where he was part of the original General Motors Corvette production team, working there for 28 years. He then transferred to the Bowling Green Corvette plant for two years until his retirement. He moved back to Dexter in 1983.
He also is survived by two sisters, Vivian Patterson and Alma Maynard, both of Dexter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Watkins & Sons Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Petty officiating.
Burial will be at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
