BENTON -- Charles "Buddy" Hodgkiss, 66, of Benton, died Wednesday, March 1, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 14, 1928, at Randles, son of Tillman and Grace Harrison Hodgkiss. He and Irma Zach were married in 1952. He later married Veronica Rutland in 1980.
Hodgkiss was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force 20 years. He was a real estate agent in Austin, Texas, and then worked for the city of Houston, Texas, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton, and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Melvin and Roy Lee Hodgkiss of Austin; his mother, Grace Thompson of Benton; a stepson, Mark Reno of Austin; a stepdaughter, Michelle Johnson of Houston; a sister, Patsy Diebold of Wichita, Kan., and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton after 4 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at the chapel at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Dale Huff officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3838.
