DEXTER, Mo. -- Charles "Herman" Goss, 70, of Cahokia, Ill., formerly of Dexter, died on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at his home.
He was born on Sept. 9, 1931, at Arbyrd, Mo., the son of Charlie and Lessie Black Goss.
He was the retired owner/operator of Herman Goss Tree Service of Cahokia. He was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Cahokia.
Survivors include his wife, Reva Berniece Goss of Cahokia; a son, Glenn Goss of Belleville, Ill.; four daughters, Brenda Steiger and Laura Goss of Belleville, Diana Goss of Seattle, Wash., and Shirley "Penny" J. Roach of Valmeyer, Ill.; two brothers, David Goss of Sun Valley, Calif., and Joe Goss of Riverside, Calif.; four sisters, Christine Morrow of Fontana, Calif., Jean Wolfs of Cypress, Calif., Shirley Kittrell of Whittier , Calif., and Bonnie Shaffer of Visalia, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon today at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
