SIKESTON, Mo. -- Charles Hammon, 75, of Sikeston died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born April 19, 1927, in Clay County, Ark., son of Lester Sylvester and Tolleese Manola Williams Hammon. He and Alice Nadine Jeffries were married Sept. 24, 1950, in Piggott, Ark.
Hammon was a lineman 25 years with Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Charles, Sylvester and Duane Hammon, all of Sikeston, Randal "Randy" Hammon of Bloomfield, Mo., David Hammon of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; three daughters, Pamela Richmond, Alice Baker and Sheila Long, all of Sikeston; a brother, Leo Hammon of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a sister, Anna Worley of Poplar Bluff; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother and another brother.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marble Hill Cemetery at Poplar Bluff.
