CHAFFEE -- Charles "Gunner" Grissom, 68, of Chaffee, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1996, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

He was born Feb. 11, 1927, in East Prairie, son of Charles and Lizzie Terry Grissom. He first married Frankie Grissom. He later married Mable Evans Oct. 7, 1969.

Grissom was a self-employed plumber.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Charles Grissom of Charleston, Roland, Mike and Wesley Grissom of East Prairie, Randon Grissom of Cape Girardeau, Landon Grissom of Chaffee; six daughters, Debbie Self of Charleston, Linda Shands, Martha Aters and Ruthie Christian of East Prairie, Rhonda Ling and Penny Davis of New Madrid; a sister, Inez Fent of Midlothian, Ill.; 22 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Dowdy officiating.
