Charles John Engelmann, 69, 348 Engelmann Lane, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at his home.
He was born July 28, 1927, in Cape Girardeau County, son of John R. and Esther Cobble Engelmann. He and Dorothy "Eldine" Fiedleve were married April 16, 1955, in Cape Girardeau.
Engelmann had farmed, and retired from Cape Special Road District in 1984. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and charter member of its Men's Club. He served two terms on the Cape Girardeau School Board. Engelmann was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Engelmann of Springfield; a brother, Rudolph Engelmann of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lela Rubel of Egypt Mills, and Virginia Dumey of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-7 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
