ORAN, Mo. -- Charles B. Eftink, 80, of Oran died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2003, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.
He was born Jan. 14, 1923, at Portageville, Mo., son of Herman Bernard and Cecelia Suzanne Strack Eftink. He and Coletta Ann Jansen were married Feb. 16, 1949. She died March 25, 2003.
Eftink was a retired farmer. He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311, all in Oran, and Morley VFW Post 5368 in Morley, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include eight sons, Ed Eftink of High Ridge, Mo., Jerry and Dennis Eftink of Perkins, Mo., Herman, Richard and Harold Eftink of Oran, Kevin Eftink of Mesler, Mo., Kenny Eftink of Jackson; three daughters, Linda Arnold of Mesler, Carol Coplin of Advance, Mo., Ruth White of Brownwood, Mo.; a brother, Joseph Eftink of Oran; 28 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, with KC rosary at 7:15.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
