Marble Hill, Mo. -- Charles R. "Bud" Eaker, 85, of Marble Hill died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 3, 1923, in Lutesville, Mo., son of Charles U. and Lillie Bell Eaker.
He and Thelma Burns were married Aug. 10, 1946, in Piggott, Ark.
He owned a heating, refrigeration and electrical repair service in Marble Hill and was active with the city government. He served in the Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Eaker of Marble Hill; two sons, Robert W. Eaker of Marble Hill, David A. Eaker of Springdale, Utah; a sister, Wilda Reidle of Edwardsville, Ill.; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. John Englehart officiating.
Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill.
