JONESBORO, Ill. -- Charles E. Bishop, 89, of Jonesboro died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at the Union County Hospital.

Born Aug. 22, 1912 in Dermott, Ark., he was the son of Charles Jay and Nora Neal Bishop.

A retired tree trimmer, he also made goose, duck and turkey calls.

In 1936, in Hayti, Mo., he was married to Harriet Winson. She died in 1970.

He later married Donna Aydelotte.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Fred Bishop of Borden, Ind.; a stepson, Bob Bivins of Lexington, Ill., a daughter, Kay Lartz of Andalusia, Ill., two brothers, Bill Bishop of Shreveport, La., and Robert Bishop of Lockesburg, Ark.; three sisters, Louise Dennington of Dermott, Ark., Mary Nell Crowder of Shreveport and Mildred Barham of Fla., and 8 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Bishop was preceded in death by a stepson, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Fred Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
