Charlene Mary Hoefler Urhahn, 67, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. Charlene Mary Hoefler Urhahn, 67, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 21, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Charles Clement and Coletta Clara Heuring Hoefler. She and Jacob Urhahn were married Jan. 4, 1992, in Cape Girardeau.

Charlene was an educator, working in elementary education at St. Mary's Grade School in Cape Girardeau and then Immaculate Conception Grade School in Jackson, along with Guardian Angel in Oran, Missouri, and St. Augustine in Kelso, Missouri.

She also worked as a secretary at Southeast Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include her husband of 24 years, Jacob Urhahn; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Loi) Ha of Cape Girardeau and Christina (Lonie) Hobbs of Fruitland; two nephews, Michael and Bruce Ha; three nieces, Michelle Thuy Ha, Aimee Ha and Christy (Fabio) Ha; as well as many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will begin at 7 p.m., with the rosary by Knights of Columbus Council 1111 immediately following.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Birthright.
