KELSO, Mo. � Celestia Ann Steimle, 88, of Kelso died Friday, July 27, 2018, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 24, 1930, in Benton, Missouri, to Andrew John and Mary Katherine LeDure Welter. She married Herbert Fred Steimle on July 2, 1949. He preceded her in death April 15, 1989.
Along with her husband, they owned and operated Herb�s Place in Kelso for 32 years. She later was a housekeeper for Southeast Hospital and Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Ladies Auxiliary VFW, American Legion and Ladies Sodality.
She is survived by a daughter, Nadine (Danny) Smith of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, James �Mikie� Smith and William �BJ� (Heather) Smith of Cape Girardeau; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Kaden, Elynn and Ayla; two sisters, Revella Schlosser of Scott City and Zeta Welter of Kelso; a sister-in-law, Helen Welter of Kelso; and numerous nieces and nephew.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold, Leon and Sylvester Welter; and a sister, Betty Kluesner.
She loved spending time with her family and loved cooking , especially chicken and dumplins.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, with Rev. the Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
