Celester Lewis Holley, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 13, 1951, in St. Louis to Louis Charles and Edna Earl Smith Holley. He married Anni Maria Jusiewicz on Oct. 24, 1980, and she preceded him in death Feb. 14, 2015.
He worked for Defender at Procter & Gamble. He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army.
Celester is survived by a son, Thomas (Andrea) Holley of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Diana (Okwuchukwu) Oboh and Celeste (Will) Jackson, both of Cape Girardeau, and Monika (Guenter) Ritter-Mueller of Germany; four brothers, Charles, Roy, Eddie and George Holley; three sisters, Wilma Jennings, Levera Hines and Linda Singleton; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Jasmine, Eli, Sandra, Caitlin, Isabella, Natalie, Ava, Alivia, Sylar and Adaeze; and a greatgrandson, Naveen.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Shawn Phillips; three brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral will be at noon on Wednesday at the chapel. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
