CELESTE PETLEY

FREDERICKTOWN -- Funeral service for Celeste E. Petley of Fredericktown will be held at 11 a.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. The Rev. W.D. Snider will officiate, with burial in Marcus Memorial Park.

Petley, 94, died Saturday, March 16, 1996, in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 20, 1902, at Poynor, daughter of T.N. and Mary Hall Ballard. She first married John Holt, who preceded her in death. She later married E. Petley, who also preceded her in death.

Petley was a member of Rebekah Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. When her first husband died in the early 1950s, she served his remaining term in the House of Representatives.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Province of Cape Girardeau; a grandson, and two great-grandchildren.
