BLOOMFIELD -- Cecil Thorn, 86, of Bloomfield died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995, at Sikeston.
He was born Jan. 18, 1909, at Bloomfield, son of U.G. and Mary Whitehead Thorn. On Feb. 12, 1938, he married Agnes Boscherd, who preceded him in death Aug. 19, 1975. On Feb. 19, 1977, he married Carmaleen Walker, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield and retired from the Farmers Home Association in 1969 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield.
Other survivors include a son, Grant Thorn of Bloomfield; two daughters, Mary Jo Goforth of Catron and Francis Rendleman of Oran; three step-daughters, Joanne Newcomer of Jefferson City, Cindy Brown of Vadnais, N.M., and Linda Kersey of Dacula, Ga.; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Bloomfield with the Rev. Hank Foster officiating. Burial will be in West Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Bloomfield.
