Cecil Paul McGuire, 81, of Jackson died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at his home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Hickory Grove, Mo., son of Edwin Lawrence and Lillian Allen McGuire. He and Wanda L. Cobb were married Dec. 23, 1956.
Cecil attended Cape First Church and was a member of Labor Local 1104 and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau, and Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 of Jackson.
He was a foreman with Penzel Construction Co., retiring in 1992 after 36 years of service.
Cecil was in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, serving in Korea.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda of Jackson; a son, Rick (Terri) McGuire of Tilsit; two daughters, Kim (John) Jennings of Cape Girardeau, Pam (Ronnie) Kimbel of Fruitland; a brother, George McGuire of Jackson; two sisters, Geraldine Stroder and Kathleen Wilson of Jackson; nine grandchildren, Blake, Conner, Nicole, Tyler, Alyssa, Chrissy, Matt, Josiah and Jeremiah; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home. An American Legion service will be at 7.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Brothers officiating. Burial will be in McGuire Cemetery near Burfordville with full military honors.
