MARBLE HILL - Marble Hill resident Cecil J. Sawyer, 81, died Saturday, April 25, 1992 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Sawyer was born at Miami, Fla. on Feb. 26, 1911 to the late James A. and Illma Baker Sawyer.
On March 1, 1931, he married Mildred Codrick. She survives at Marble Hill.
Sawyer worked as a printer, retiring from The Frankin Press in Miami. He moved to this area from Florida in 1991. He was a member of the Old Union United Methodist Church near Marquand.
Surviving in addition are a son, Thomas A. Sawyer of Marble Hill; a daughter, Barbara Warlen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Erma Druhot of Miami, Fla.; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was one brother.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Funeral service will be held at the home Tuesday at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Glenn Armstrong will officiate.
