SIKESTON -- Cecil F. Godwin, 92, of Sikeston, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 12, 1900, in Waverly, Tenn., son of John Thomas and Elzie O. Fields Godwin. He and Myrtle M. Belver were married Sept. 2, 1917, at Malden. She died Feb. 19, 1983.
Godwin was a retired farmer, and attended North Acres General Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Ray Godwin of Marble Hill, Harold Godwin of Hollister, J.W. Godwin of Branson, Glen Godwin of Oran; a daughter, Joyce Castleberry of Springfield; a brother, Bruce Godwin of Sikeston; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two grandchildren, a great-grandson, and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jim Matthews will officiate, with burial in Dogwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
