Catherine Rae O'Dell, 55, of Scott City died Monday, July 24, 2006, at her home.
She was born July 1, 1951, in Flint, Mich., daughter of Leonard Joseph and Rachel Elizabeth Smith Higgins.
O'Dell was a self-employed daycare provider at Kids Inc. She was a member of Eagles Aerie 3775 in Cape Girardeau. She was a 1969 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Keith Barnett and wife Ashley of Scott City; two daughters, Kari Barnett stationed in Seoul, Korea, and fiance Josue Ponce, Robin Lance of Scott City; two brothers, Max Higgins of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Hoyt Higgins of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Hattie Emery of Paragould, Ark., Vicky Prince of Cape Girardeau; two granddaughters, MacKenzie Barnett and Michaela Overbey of Scott City; and special friends, Robert and Victoria Overbey of Scott City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Mo. The Rev. Rennie Phillips will officiate.
