BRIDGETON, N.J. -- Catherine Amelia Henry, 86, of Bridgeton, N.J., died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at The Goldfinch House assisted living facility in Bridgeton.
She was born April 3, 1917, in Benton, Mo., the daughter of Robert Coope and Amelia E. Steimle Brock. She graduated from Benton High School.
A homemaker, she enjoyed gardening and arts and crafts. She was a member of the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Bridgeton and attended St. Dennis Catholic Church in Benton.
Mrs. Henry traveled extensively with her husband, who was an engineer with Bechtel Corp. She has resided in several locations around the United States and also in England. She lived in Houston, Texas, prior to moving to the Bridgeton area.
She is survived by a one son, Michael C. Henry and his wife, Trudy V. Hansen of Greenwich, N.j., on daughter, Nancy K. Hansen and her husband, Michael of Dallas, one granddaughter, Rebekkah S. Carney and her husband Benjamin, II of Bloomsbury, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Jose, Glen, Wade, Robert and William Brock; and four sisters, Vera Miller, Georgia vanHarris, Rebecca Dirnberger and Hazel Brock.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday. The funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Normand Varone at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Benton at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Henry's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 100 N. 17th St., 2nd flood, Philadelphia, PA 19103-2737.
