CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral service for Catherine Rees Gratop of Daytona Beach, Fla., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. The Rev. Arnold Hoffman will officiate, with burial in Cairo City Cemetery at Villa Ridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. to service time.
Gratop, 92, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, at Memorial Hospital in Ormond Beach, Fla.
She was born Aug. 26, 1903, in Cairo, daughter of Egbert and Phyllis Howard Smith. She first married Vernett J. Rees, who preceded her in death. She later married Rollin Gratop, who also preceded her in death.
Gratop retired from teaching in Cairo Schools. She was a member of Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church.
Survivors include two nephews, James Midkiff of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Harry Goettel of Savannah, Ga.
She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
