Echols, 78, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at her home.

She was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Ullin, Ill., daughter of Roy and Lorraine Harmon Grear.

Survivors include a daughter, Rosalind Lingle of Dongola; a son, Randy Echols of Dongola; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
