Carrie Ward Sutter, 83, of Puxico died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 27, 1922, near Wappapello, Mo., daughter of Thomas and Lillie Jines Ward. She and Alton Sutter were married May 5, 1947. He died May 16, 2002.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Puxico, the Puxico Eastern Star and had served as a den mother for the Cub Scout program for many years. Sutter and her husband had owned and operated Puxico Mercantile.
Survivors include two sons; Stephen A. Sutter of Puxico, Douglas W. Sutter of Erie, Pa.; two sisters, Opal Ward of Puxico and Copal Fronabarger of St. Peters, Mo.; a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Mo. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Puxico, with the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Puxico in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.watkinsfuneralhome.com.
